Copyright Policy
ourgames.life is a fan-made gaming companion. We build our features on original, factual information we create ourselves — short summaries, entity relationships, source links, and timestamps — never on copied walkthrough text, maps, or full transcripts. This page explains what we store, how we respect the rights of publishers and creators, and how you can request a correction or file a takedown.
ourgames.life is an Early Access product. This policy will be updated as new features launch, and planned features will be governed by the terms described here when they are introduced.
What we store — and what we don't
We are a companion resource, not a content library. What we keep in our own systems is original, factual material that we create: short factual summaries written in our own words, structured relationships between game entities (for example, which item unlocks which door, or which boss guards which area), links pointing to original sources, and timestamps marking useful moments in publicly available videos.
We do not store copied copyrighted material. We do not host or reproduce full walkthrough text, game maps, level layouts ripped from a game, art assets, or full transcripts of videos or in-game dialogue. Facts — such as "this key is found in the eastern tower" — are not copyrightable; the particular expression an author uses to describe them is, and we do not copy that expression.
Where our AI features reference third-party material, they point you to the source rather than reproducing it wholesale.
How our AI Sidekick and Game Academy handle rights
Our AI gaming Sidekick answers questions like "how do I get past this part" using spoiler controls, and can be powered by Anthropic's Claude, an OpenAI-compatible model, or a local fallback. Its answers are generated factual guidance, not copied text lifted from a specific walkthrough. If you believe an answer reproduces protected expression from your work, tell us and we will address it.
Our Game Academy provides structured lessons written as original instructional content. We do not copy lessons, guides, or course material from other creators.
YouTube and embedded video
Walkthrough video segments are shown through the official YouTube IFrame Player API. The video is embedded and streamed directly from YouTube — we never download, copy, re-host, or store the video itself. What we store is a link and a timestamp that point to the creator's original upload.
We do not suppress or alter YouTube's advertising or player controls, and all viewing takes place within YouTube's own player under YouTube's Terms of Service. Creators keep full control of their content on YouTube; removing or restricting a video there also removes it from our embeds.
Planned features (governed when introduced)
Some features are planned and not yet live. The rules below will apply to them when, and only when, they are introduced.
Gameplay screen-sharing with on-demand AI frame analysis: when introduced, screen frames will be processed only on an explicit user action. Temporary frames will be deleted after analysis, there will be no full gameplay recording by default, and the analysis will produce our own factual observations rather than stored copies of on-screen art.
Affiliate "Buy & Download" links to authorized retailers (such as GOG, Green Man Gaming, Fanatical, Epic, and publisher stores): when introduced, these will link only to legitimate, authorized sellers. We will disclose that they are affiliate links and that we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not and will not process game payments ourselves — the retailer handles the transaction and owns that relationship.
Private "Party" voice and text rooms (WebRTC/LiveKit): when introduced, there will be no continuous voice recording and no automatic transcription. Voice will be processed only on explicit user action, consistent with our privacy-first defaults.
Trademarks and affiliation
ourgames.life is an independent fan resource. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any game publisher, developer, or platform.
All game names, characters, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. We reference them only to help players find and understand the games they already own or want to play. Any use of a trademarked name is nominative — it identifies the game, not an endorsement.
Request a correction or file a takedown
If you own rights to material and believe something on ourgames.life infringes your copyright, or if you spot a factual summary that misrepresents your work, contact us at hello@ourgames.life and we will review it promptly.
To help us act quickly, please include: your name and the rights you hold; a description of the work you believe is affected; the specific page, link, or feature on ourgames.life at issue; and, for a takedown request, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized. If we agree that stored material crosses the line from factual reference into copied expression, we will correct or remove it.
Because this is an Early Access product run by an independent developer, email is the fastest and most reliable way to reach us. We aim to respond to every good-faith rights request.
