AI Limitations
Our AI gaming Sidekick is a helpful companion, not an oracle. It infers the most likely state of your game and offers guidance that can be incomplete, outdated by a patch, or simply wrong — so treat every answer as a starting point to verify, not a guarantee.
OurGames is an Early Access product. This page will be updated as features launch and as our AI capabilities change.
The Sidekick infers — it does not know
When you ask something like "how do I get past this boss" or "where is the key," the Sidekick reasons from your text, from patterns it has learned, and from general knowledge about the game. It builds a best guess about where you are and what you are stuck on. That guess is an inference, not a reading of your actual screen.
Because it is inferring, the Sidekick can misjudge your progress, confuse one section of a game for another, or assume you have items or abilities you do not have. It aims to be useful across many possible situations, which sometimes means its answer fits a slightly different scenario than the one you are in.
The Sidekick is powered by a large language model (Anthropic's Claude or an OpenAI-compatible model, with a local fallback when those are unavailable). Like all such models, it can state something confidently and still be incorrect. Confidence in the wording is not evidence of accuracy.
No claims of certainty about screens it has not analyzed
The Sidekick will never claim to see your screen unless you have explicitly shared a specific frame for analysis. It does not silently watch your gameplay, and it will not pretend to know what is on your display based on a screenshot or screen share it has not actually received and analyzed.
On-demand AI frame analysis from browser screen-sharing is a planned feature that is not yet live. When introduced, it will analyze only the specific frame you choose to capture, at the moment you ask — and even then, its reading of that single frame is an interpretation that can be mistaken. It will describe what it thinks it sees, not assert unverifiable certainty about the rest of your session.
If the Sidekick has not analyzed a particular image, and you ask it about that image, it should tell you it cannot see it rather than guess as though it can.
Guidance can be outdated by patches and updates
Games change. Developers patch bosses, move items, rebalance mechanics, and rewrite quests. Guidance that was accurate for one version of a game may be wrong after an update, and the Sidekick may not know which version you are playing.
Our Game Academy lessons and any embedded YouTube walkthrough segments can likewise reflect an older build of a game. A video that shows the "right" route may predate a patch that changed it entirely.
Treat all guidance as informational and time-sensitive. When a step does not match what you see in your game, trust your game — not the Sidekick.
Always verify before you act
Use the Sidekick as a companion, not an authority. Before you sell an item, spend a hard-to-earn resource, make an irreversible story choice, or delete a save, verify the advice against your own game and, where it matters, a second source.
Spoiler controls let you decide how much the Sidekick reveals. They limit what is shown to you; they do not make the underlying guidance more accurate. A low-spoiler hint can be just as mistaken as a full explanation.
We provide this information to help you enjoy your games. We cannot guarantee outcomes, and you are responsible for the actions you take in your own save files.
How your screen and voice are handled
OurGames is privacy-first by default. Screen frames and voice are processed only when you explicitly act — never continuously and never in the background.
When on-demand frame analysis is introduced, a captured frame is used only to answer your immediate question and is deleted after analysis. There is no full gameplay recording by default. Planned private "Party" voice and text rooms (WebRTC/LiveKit), when introduced, will not continuously record voice or transcribe it in the background.
These planned features are described here so our policies are clear in advance. They are not yet live, and we phrase their rules as governing them when introduced. Nothing on this page implies a capability is active before it actually ships.
YouTube, retailers, and payments
Walkthrough videos are embedded through the official YouTube IFrame Player API. We never download videos, and we never suppress YouTube's ads or player controls. Playback is governed by YouTube's own terms.
Planned "Buy & Download" links to authorized retailers (such as GOG, Green Man Gaming, Fanatical, Epic, and publisher stores), when introduced, will be affiliate links. That means we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not process game purchases ourselves — the retailer handles the transaction, payment, delivery, and support. Any affiliate relationship will be disclosed.
The Sidekick may mention where a game can be bought, but availability, pricing, and regional restrictions are set by the retailer, not by us, and can change at any time.
Early Access, and who we are
OurGames is an Early Access product built by an independent developer. Features are evolving, some described here are planned rather than live, and behavior may change as we improve the product.
OurGames is a fan-made companion resource. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any game publisher or developer. All game names, characters, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to help players find help for the games they already own.
